Besides yours, who do you think deserves "The Best Mother in the World" award?
Submitted by Connie.
My sister, Kristi. She is an outstanding mom. She has two kids right now and a baby girl on the way, due in June. She absolutely amazes me with her patience and impresses me with the way she encourages her children to explore and learn the world around them. She has taught them kindness, sharing, curiosity, honesty, love and so much more. I have no doubt that her children will grow up to be incredible human beings - just as she is.
What are you most sensitive about?
Being wrong.
Being proven that I'm wrong. Having someone point out in front of others that I'm wrong. Figuring out on my own that I was wrong.
Point blank...I just hate being wrong and I get really panicked and frustrated inside when I am.
By the way...for those of you that do prove me wrong, no need to stop - just know what you put me through when you do. ;)
I've always known that the weather here in Denver is a bit crazy - but this past month has been especially so. For two days, it'll be in the 60s or 70s and then the next two days, it'll be cold and snowy. The most extreme of this is happening now. Monday and Tuesday of this week, it was over 80 degrees and sunny - absolutely beautiful! Today...
You just never know what to expect here, and I guess I'm okay with that. Especially, since I know that in a day or two, it'll be back up in the 70s with blue sky and sunshine.
What happened the first time you were left home alone as a child?
Submitted by Warhead.
The very first time I was left home alone, my mom gave me two rules:
- "stay here"
- "don't answer the door"
She was gone for half an hour or so. When she returned, she was surprised to find me sitting on the steps exactly where I was when she had left. As the obedient child that I was, I took her "stay here" rule literally and didn't move from the step for the entire time she was gone.
Boy, how things changed as I got older.
What do you love about where you live?

Twenty-five minutes from my house to get here:
Once winter has gone away for the year, one of my favorite things to do is clean the house. And, not just any normal cleaning of the house, but a serious deep Spring cleaning. With the exception of taking a break to watch the Kansas / UNC basketball game yesterday, over the past two days, Jon and I have
- Removed the storm windows and installed screens
- Cleaned my office - including behind the desk where all the dust-bunnies gather
- Washed all of the windows and window sills
- Dumped or recycled bags of useless or unused junk
- Dusted EVERYTHING - behind books and electronics, under the bed and couch, baseboards, picture frames and above the door frames - all those places that I typically forget about when I do a normal cleaning of the house
- Organized closets - it's amazing to me how many things disappear in closets until you really clean them
- Switched out our bedspread from the Winter one to the Spring/Summer one
- Washed down and cleaned our deck, deck furniture and grill
- Swept the front patio and put away the shovel and salt for the Summer
- Pulled weeds and cut back over-grown vines and bushes
- Set up the soaker hose throughout the garden
- Washed all of the kitchen appliances and cannisters
- Moved all the furniture and scrubbed the floors by hand
- Deep cleaned the rug - brushed out by hand all the cat hair and anything else that has gotten trapped in it
- Recycled all the unwanted magazines that have been building up over the winter
- Cleaned the burner rings on the stove, dusted the spice rack and the included spices
- Brushed out the cat hair from Zulu's scratching post
- Washed the walls, where necessary
- Scrubbed the fireplace tools
That's right.I was thinking, a better contest would have been: how many F-bombs will Jon drop? read more
